1) This is a post about the Rock of Cashel. So therefore the whole time you are reading this you must sing ‘solid…….solid as a rock’ by Ashford and Simpson.
2) All the photos in this post are thanks to the insane photographic abilities of one awesome Aunty Weez.
This weekend we drove down to Tipperary to visit the Rock of Cashel. Seeing as we had an extra pair of hands in the form of Aunty Weez we thought we would get out and see some of this beautiful country we are lucky enough to call home. The Rock of Cashel ranks as one of the top 10 things to do in Ireland, and is also on my 30 before 30 bucket list. I’m so glad we took the time to visit as it really is impressive and crazy to think it has stood as a structure since the 11th Century.
We had a great morning walking around, sadly the visitor centre was closed so we missed out on that. After a morning wandering around the site we walked down the hill into Cashel itself for lunch. For large family groups there isn’t a whole lot going on in down-town Cashel, but we found a really nice pub which served us up a couple of plates of nuggets and chips and 3 roast dinners.
We also took millions of photos and posed up a storm. In all its a great day out and I recommend to any one coming to Ireland, its not number 4 on the top 10 list of stuff to do for no reason people!!!
I made a little video of us exploring….
