Its half term and the weather is pants. We are only 2 days in, well 4 if you count the weekend. We have already made Halloween cakes, decorated the house, played endless games, started reading novels (family reading time isnt going too well in all honesty but I’m determined to keep it up) so it has been Netflix to the rescue!!! Here’s what we have been watching……
1) Pirates of the Caribbean. Kids love the swashbuckling adventures, Mummy loves Jonny Depp with guyliner. Winner.
2) Brave – so we defaulted from our daily Frozen viewing to watch this. Amelie approved, Vivi spent the entire time shouting for ‘hergo’ (vivi speak for Let it Go, who knew 2 year olds could have such strong musical tastes!) I like the Scottish princess more than the lovey dovey ones in other Disney films. Although I still really want to see a Disney princess who can be girlie girlie AND give the boys a run for their money at the same time AND be in love with Prince Charming but be able to support herself at the same time AND not look too perfect, but not look all dishevelled – too much to ask maybe?! .
3) The Babysitters Club. Oh how I wish some annoying American tweens moved in to our Village and set up a club where I could send my kids for a few euros for an entire day. Darn you Euro health & saftey/child labour laws.
4) Thomas and Friends. They have the first series (and plenty more), which is a childhood classic. Seriously awesome. Luis and Maxi remember it almost word for word. Amelie watched a good few before asking for Frozen and Vivienne was enthralled.
In exchange for regular posts I have been given an Apple TV and a one year Netflix subscription. All opinions are my own.
