We have kind of developed this ‘cake thing’ in our family, where the birthday child in question will request a particular theme of cake and flavour. Luis usually always asks for chocolate and something football related (he had a football shirt this year), Amelie just says whatever pops into her head (hence the Petal cake last year) and Vivi is too young to pick (although I think she will have a monkey/curious george cake this year). Maxi is highly specific in his cake themes. First he wanted Bannilla (or for those of us who can pronounce our V, Vanilla) with chocolate icing and chocolate chip middle. Decoration wise the theme was set as ‘Jurassic Park 3, when the Raptors are fighting over the eggs”. Not one to be big headed but I think I did pretty awesome.
Awww baby Maxi. He was born at 4.07 in the water birth suite of our local hospital after a 2 hour labour (my second shortest). I was only 22 when he was born, a baby myself I suppose. This baby breastfed until he was nearly two, and didnt sleep at night until recently (like when we moved here!). He had speech delay and in his short life has had a few people write him off or label him as possible learning delayed/adhd/add, but he has shown them all and really rises to a challenge.
We celebrated his birthday with cake and little friends to play, he fell asleep happy and content (not looking dissimilar to the above photo) declaring that “this is the best berfday ever”. Happy Days.
