This weekend Amelie was supposed to be having her tonsils taken out, however on Thursday we were told that they couldn’t get her in blah blah blah and long story short its not happening now. We were left with an entirely free day and went up to my Dads for a BBQ yesterday which turned into an impromptu fishing trip.
Every now and then since moving to Ireland I get a sudden wave of ‘ohhhh wow we are SO lucky to live here!’. Granted those waves hit more often than not on the rare sunny days (hello heatwave) than when its flogging rain and cold, but none the less the sentiment is the same. We really are lucky to live here.
The girls have never been down to the lake at my Dads before because its muddy and messy. But we were mob handed yesterday with both Mr Clev and Granddad so they got to come too. We are getting near the ages where they are easier to manage, I didn’t have to worry so much about them falling in or running off because they stay together a bit more now, and also listen (sometimes. Other times they listen to what I say then decide to do the exact opposite). It fills me with hope for Summer adventures and future travels.
Mr Clev has never been fishing before, and while this wasn’t a proper fishing trip, I think he quite enjoyed it and is keen to learn a bit more. It was fun to see the boys teaching him a thing or two!! While we were walking back the two of us exchanged ‘the look’, as in to say ‘its so great we live here now!’.
All in all, an impromptu fishing trip certainly beat a day in hospital with Amelie having her tonsils out. We heart Ireland in the sunshine!
As always you can see more photos on my Instagram or Facebook page. Have a fab heatwave week all.
