Whats in a name?

How exciting that the new British Princess is here and has a name. I had guessed on facebook that her name would be Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and I was right! A very lovely traditional name. As for their first photo I think The Duchess of Cambridge looked amazing. I always look that good straight after giving birth, heres proof…

Obviously Kate didn’t want to meet the press rocking the polo neck, jeans and messy bun look. Personally I think she missed a trick there.

One of my favourite parts of being pregnant is picking out baby names. If I were to have any more children I have a whole heap of names ready to go, some of these are Mr Clev approved and the majority are not. Even though Im pretty sure we are good with 5, and baby 6 is not on the cards I still get a weird kick out of picking names. Sad but true.

The general rule I follow when naming my bambinos is an uncommon but not totally out there first name, a really trendy second name (like Sunday, Tallulah and Surrey – LOVE) and then a family name for the third one (Christopher, Elizabeth, Joan and Kate). Im not sure if taking a confirmation name is still the done thing or not but I have a whole heap of saints names lined up for when the time comes if its something the kids want to do.

I am currently obsessing over the name Otto. I love it. Its not completely wacko but really not overly common in Ireland or the UK.  I also like Jude (I can imagine us all singing ‘Hey Jude’ at all family occasions), and I love the name Haynes which happens to be a family name too. For the wacky middle name, I think I would put ‘Six’ in there somewhere (for baby number 6)y and I also like Hogan. The third name would be after Mr Clevs dad, my dad or my/Mr Clevs grandparents so -George, Clive, Walter, or Patrick.

For girls Laurie is my top pick, after my Grandy. Weirdly that has always been up there as a name of choice but it hasn’t felt right for any of our girls. I also have Marnie, Truly and Penelope on my list. Penelope is having a bit of a moment isnt it? I think since Kourtney Kardashian called her daughter that name its kind of exploded. I would have to have Peppy for short instead of Penny or just have Pippa instead. I also LOVE Clive as a middle name for a girl, I think its really unusual and its my Dads name. Penelope Clive is awesome I think. I think my favourite name would be Laurie Shamrock. Needless to say Mr Clev has vetoed that one as being too out there and weird.

So there you have it, if you are preggo and reading this and want to steal some of those names then feel free! I think that when my friends all catch up with me and start having babies of their own I will have to get a dog to prevent any broody feelings or longing for a number 6. You can bet I’ve already picked out the breed and name of my dog too. Sir Pugsworth the Puggle will be landing the moment my sister or my bff announces a pregnancy!!

Hello there! This post could not be written any better!
Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always
kept chatting about this. I will forward this article to him.
Fairly certain he will have a good read. Thank you for sharing!

I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills
as well as with the layout on your weblog. Is this
a paid theme or did you customize it yourself?
Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare
to see a nice blog like this one these days.

I believe everything said was very logical. However, what about this?
what if you typed a catchier post title? I ain’t
saying your information is not good, however suppose you added
something that makes people desire more? I mean Whats
in a name? – The Clevs is kinda boring. You might peek
at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create article headlines
to get viewers to click. You might add a video or a picture or two to get people excited about
everything’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it would bring your website a little livelier.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and
visual appearance. I must say that you’ve done a superb job with this.
In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Chrome. Outstanding Blog!
