A sunny weekend.

Two weekends ago we went for a little daytime trip to the beach, I found this half completed post on my blog so thought I would hit publish.

We loaded up the car and headed to Galway bay and a little beach just south of Kinvara. It was freezing. The sun made a few appearances and for fleeting moments with a hefty dose of imagination we could have been somewhere tropical. Then the sun went in again and we were cold and it was windy.

We managed some sandcastle building and a spot of beach football before we had to retreat to the car for our picnic. I know – we are wimps.
True story = There was an entire family of 6 there all wearing wet suits. To me that kind of totes defeats the object of being at the beach, but at least they were all warm!

The boys managed a few rounds of beach soccer. I actually love nothing more than siblings in matching outfits. I am totally that woman who would dress twins in the same outfits all-the-time. Luis and Maxi decided to go matchy matchy to the beach, its pretty hard to tell in this photo but Luis is on the right (the one shoulder barging his brother off the ball – nice).

Bammas built about 6 sandcastles. She gets herself dressed most days now, this was a particularly interesting outfit compromised of leopard print harem pants and her brothers Angry Birds t-shirt. If anyone can make ‘big brother chic’ look good its Amelie.

After about 2 hours on the beach we drove the short while into Galway for their maritime festival. We stayed long enough to grab a coffee in the new Costa on shop street (its almost like being at home, except a few more tourists) and to have a nice walk down the long walk and back past the claddagh and round the docks. Every time we go to the dock I am torn between spending my imaginary lotto win on a giant boat or a giant motor-home (they are always parked up there) for the Clevs to go adventuring in.

I cant wait for more beach days over the summer,  Im hoping to get up to Connemara and maybe even down to Cork or up to Donegal in August. There is something incredibly soul soothing about watching your babies play on a beach and dipping your toes in the ocean (although its way more soul soothing if done somewhere hot).

Since our beach day we have been hit with the cold bug doing the rounds. Im currently typing one handed while Cora snots all over me and Vivi snots all over the sofa in the other room. Lovely.

You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation but
I to find this matter to be really one thing which I believe I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and extremely huge for me. I’m looking ahead to your subsequent publish,
I will try to get the cling of it!
